Sonora Pass

This will be a fun summer ride up and over Sonora Pass (Hwy 108) with a return over Ebett's Pass (Hwy 4). On the way we'll stop for a lunch break at the Columns of the Giants trailhead for picnic lunch. Bring your brown-bag lunch with you, or pick one up from Mel & Feye's in Jackson or Alicia's Sugar Shack in Sugarpine.

For those who would like to stretch their legs during this break, there is a nice 1/4 mi. trail to a pretty amazing geologic formation.

Plenty of off-the-beaten-path single-lane roads on this ride. Summer days warm quickly. Let's get a jump on the day and start at 8 in Jackson -- hopefully getting into the mountains before it gets too hot. Stop by Mel & Feye's around 7 if you would like to grab coffee, breakfast, or conversation before the ride.
